Hundreds request their name be removed from Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway petition, citing 'false and misleading' claims (wsmv.com) — Nashville residents are embroiled in a high-stakes fight over a petition that could end auto racing at the Fairgrounds Speedway, with about 1,700 signers now asking to remove their names, citing misleading explanations from canvassers. Competing groups are trading accusations over deceptive tactics and the future of the racetrack, while city officials maintain Nashville is obligated to keep the speedway operating.
2. Their goal is to help Metro Police and transportation officials predict dangerous crowd conditions and adjust traffic, staffing, or street closures to keep downtown visitors safer.
4. Pothole payouts: Is Tennessee being fair to motorists? (fox17.com) — Nashville drivers are highlighted in an investigation into how rarely Tennessee reimburses motorists for pothole damage, with only about 4.5% of claims paid in recent years. NAACP, Stand Up Nashville hold data center town hall with experts from across the country (wsmv.com) — Nashville's NAACP chapter and Stand Up Nashville just hosted a town hall bringing in experts to explain how large data centers can affect air, water, noise, and local tax breaks. Speakers from Memphis described their experience with xAI's facility as Nashville lawmakers prepare potential legislation to pause data center tax incentives and communities statewide consider moratoriums and regulations.
