Christian Parker Releases “Three Months Long” Ahead of Upcoming Album

Christian Parker is making the most of a fleeting summer romance with his new single, “Three Months Long.” Written by Parker alongside Neil Perry and produced by “Mama Jan” Smith and Jesse Owen Astin, the track offers another look at what’s ahead from the singer-songwriter.

Inspired by a real relationship Parker had with a woman a few years older than him, “Three Months Long” captures a connection that came with an expiration date from the beginning. Rather than wondering what could have been, Parker looks back on the freedom and spontaneity that made those few months memorable.

“I knew from the beginning that we probably weren’t meant for the long haul, but there was something beautiful about the freedom and spontaneity she carried with her,” Parker shares. “She lived life without worrying too much about what anyone else thought, and in many ways, I admired that about her.”

Parker and Perry bring that personality directly into the song, painting the relationship through references to Stevie Nicks, Tom Petty, Leather and Lace and Breakfast at Tiffany’s. At the center is a woman Parker describes as carefree, uninhibited and seemingly impossible to hold onto for long.

“When Neil Perry and I wrote this song, we wanted to capture that feeling of knowing something isn’t built to last but choosing to enjoy it for exactly what it is,” Parker adds. “Sometimes the best memories are the ones that were only meant to last three months.”

The new release arrives as Parker prepares for his upcoming album, Scales & Strings. He will give fans and industry members a preview of the project on September 25 at the Woolworth Theatre in Nashville.
