City Of Nashville: Robert Griffin Charged With Criminal Homicide For Last Night's Fatal Shooting On John A. Merritt Boulevard

Detectives today charged Robert V. Griffin, 29, with criminal homicide and felon in possession of a handgun for last night’s 10:50 p.m. fatal shooting of Orlando M. Hall, 25, outside the Marathon gas station at 2801 John A. Merritt Boulevard.

The investigation, being led by Homicide Unit Detective Timothy Morgan, shows that Hall entered the store followed a short time later by Griffin. Griffin spoke with several individuals inside, including Hall. After Hall exited the store, Griffin followed him to Hall’s car where the two men got into an argument. Griffin produced a handgun during the argument and shot Hall.

Griffin was taken into custody early today at a relative’s residence. During an interview, he admitted he shot Hall.
