Alleged drug mix-up at Ascension Saint Thomas in Nashville leaves 72-year-old woman paralyzed, family says (wsmv.com) — A serious medication error at Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital Midtown in Nashville has left at least four patients harmed, including a 72-year-old woman now paralyzed from the chest down, according to her family. Hospital leaders say they've apologized to the families, reported the incident to state regulators, and implemented new safety safeguards while the woman remains in the ICU surrounded by loved ones.
   

4. Police drone bill advances in Nashville amid debate over surveillance and public safety (newschannel5.com) — Metro Council has advanced a bill that would tightly limit when Nashville police can deploy drones, with one more vote needed before it becomes law. The proposal follows MNPD's Madison drone trial and pits transparency and privacy concerns against police arguments that drones improve emergency response and safety.
   

5. Metro Council members push forward with no right turn on red legislation (wsmv.com) — Metro Council members are pressing ahead with a bill to ban right turns on red at many busy Nashville intersections, aiming to cut pedestrian deaths that have already doubled this year. After pushback, the proposal will be narrowed to downtown, key corridors, and school zones, with a crucial second reading set for Sept. 15.
