President Trump In Nashville: MTA Says Expect 'Major Service Disruptions,' All-Day Closure For Downtown Bus Station
An MTA spokesperson said bus riders should expect Music City Central to be closed and major delays on routes due to president's visit.

NASHVILLE TN — The Metropolitan Transit Authority is warning bus riders to expect "major service disruptions" Wednesday in conjunction with President Donald Trump's rally at Municipal Auditorium. A spokesperson told Patch the authority plans for downtown's Music City Central bus station to be closed all day.
Communications Manager Wendy Smith said they hope to keep the bus station open through 9 a.m. Wednesday to get through the morning rush hour, but there's no guarantee they'll be able to do so. The MTA is working to find an alternate central terminal for Wednesday, but that location and the logistics around it may not be available until Monday.
Further, the MTA has not been advised by the Secret Service or Trump's staff — the rally is officially a campaign event and not run by the White House — as to road closures, which will also likely disrupt bus routes throughout the day, particularly during the afternoon rush hour. The rally begins at 6:30 p.m., but rumors are the president plans to visit The Hermitage ahead of his appearance downtown, which would require rolling road closures on the interstate, as well. The date of the president's event is the 250th anniversary of the birth of Andrew Jackson.

Smith urged bus riders to follow the MTA's social media accounts on Twitter and Facebook and check the authority's web site throughout the weekend and into the early part of next week as last minute information becomes available.
