Watch: Surveillance Video Showing Suspects' Car in Tourist Murder

Metro Police believe "bluish light" around the license plate will lead to the identification of the suspects.

NASHVILLE, TN — Metro Police released two surveillance videos Monday in an effort to identify the suspects in the murder of a California tourist last week.

Teddy Grasset and Larry Niehues were walking down 4th Avenue late last Sunday night when a silver Impala slowed and two men jumped out. Grasset and Niehues fled in the separate directions and while Niehues was able to escape, Grasset was shot and killed.

Police held back certain details about the Impala until Monday in hopes the public can help identify the car, particularly because it has a blue light around the license plate.

“I have no doubt that persons in our area have seen this vehicle and likely know who it belongs to,” Commander John Drake said. “The distinctive bluish hue coming off of the rear license plate sets this Impala apart. I truly believe that there are those in our community who can help us identify those responsible for this senseless act.”
