• Watkins announces retirement from two county jobs (parispi.net) — Henry County's longtime emergency management and solid waste director Ron Watkins, whose public service began with the Paris Fire Department, is retiring after nearly 30 years. He helped build key systems like the countywide digital radio network created with the City of Paris and secured major grants for recycling and disaster recovery, leaving big shoes to fill for local emergency preparedness and waste services.

• Tennessee man killed in two-vehicle crash in Murray (timesleader.net) — A 54-year-old Paris resident, Ricky Smith, died Saturday after his vehicle overturned in a two-vehicle collision at North 12th Street and Arcadia in Murray, Kentucky. Police say another driver pulled from a stop sign into Smith's path, and a reconstruction investigation is still underway, information many Paris friends and family will want to know.
