• Planned major natural gas pipeline coming through DeKalb (herald-citizen.com) — A major new natural gas pipeline, the Southeast Connector, is planned across Middle Tennessee and could eventually bolster supplies to municipal utilities, including Portland's. While construction isn't expected to start until 2028, Kinder Morgan says the project should increase long-term gas availability, tax revenue, and potential utility connections for communities already on its network.
