• Ground broken on $16-million Rockwood Municipal Airport expansion (wate.com) — Rockwood’s municipal airport is getting a $16 million expansion, including a new city-funded terminal and privately financed hangar, to handle rapidly growing traffic. City leaders say the project will support business travel tied to the Roane County/Oak Ridge corridor and create community spaces where residents can watch planes, picnic, and enjoy the airport even if they don’t fly.
