📰 News we're reading

• South-Doyle Senior Night more than the canceled game (knoxtntoday.com subscription) — Rockwood soccer fans should know Oneida’s Indians, currently 5-4-2 and unbeaten in District 2-A, still have key district showdowns ahead against Rockwood and Eagleton. The story centers on South-Doyle’s weather-canceled Senior Night but highlights how both programs are chasing deep postseason runs. Those remaining district games will heavily influence playoff seeding and momentum.

• Thomas C. Wicks (themountainpress.com) — Rockwood readers may remember Thomas C. “Tom” Wicks, who was born there in 1942 before building a long life of service, family, and friendship in Utah. The Air Force veteran and longtime Tooele Army Depot employee passed away April 8 at age 83, leaving behind his wife Gayle, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Services are being held in Utah, where he made his home.
