FOSL will be holding their Annual General Meeting on Monday, October 19th, 2026, at 11 a.m. in the SPL Program Room. All lifetime and 2026 annual members are encouraged to attend to vote on the proposed slate for the 2027 FOSL Board of Directors. FOSL's Monthly Board Meeting will be immediately following the general meeting for anyone who would like to stay and observe.

Join Smyrna author Shalanda Thompson for a free community celebration marking the release of her memoir, Around the River Bend: A Memoir of Love While Locked Up.
Guests will have an opportunity to meet the author, hear the story behind the memoir during an author interview and Q&amp;A, purchase signed copies, enjoy hors d'oeuvres and music, take photos and celebrate this exciting milestone.
Around the River Bend explores love, resilience, sacrifice and second chances while shining a light on the often-overlooked impact incarceration can have on families and loved ones outside the prison walls.
Admission is FREE, but space is limited. Registration is requested by October 23.
