City puts off 2045 debate until July 13 (tullahomanews.com) — Tullahoma’s Board of Mayor and Aldermen has delayed its decision on repealing the 2045 Tullahoma Comprehensive Plan ordinance until the July 13 meeting, after earlier controversy over short notice. Leaders are now weighing whether to rescind the ordinance and re-adopt the plan as a resolution, a move that has drawn pushback from residents concerned about weakening its impact.
   

2. City responds to online criticism (tullahomanews.com) — Tullahoma city officials are defending their permitting process after Neon Alley Arcade and Bar and the Banana Pudding Festival complained that red tape shut down or drove away their outdoor events. The city says it must apply safety codes consistently while still supporting local businesses, and Neon Alley hopes to resolve permit issues so its outdoor space can eventually reopen.
   

3. Damron Offered Tullahoma City Administrator Position (thunder1320.com) — Tullahoma’s Board of Mayor and Aldermen has formally offered interim administrator Jeff Damron the permanent City Administrator role, following a unanimous vote after debate over skipping standard interviews. Damron, a lifelong Tullahoma resident and former Parks and Recreation deputy director, says he prefers to serve under the same rules as other city employees rather than on a contract.
   

4. Oak Ridge National Laboratory honored five small business partners and a procurement officer at its 2025 Small Business Awards ceremony (energiesmedia.com) — A Tullahoma-based company, Schmiede Corporation, has been honored by Oak Ridge National Laboratory as a Women-Owned Small Business of the Year for its precision machining work on a major reactor project. The award highlights how a local firm is contributing to high-profile scientific research while competing alongside other standout small businesses from Tennessee and across the country.
