• Alvord, ESD 4 reach deal on fire assets, station (wcmessenger.com) — Alvord officials have finalized a deal transferring the city's fire department assets to Wise County ESD No. 4 while leasing the Alvord fire station to the district, ensuring uninterrupted local fire protection as the ESD begins collecting property taxes. The agreement reimburses Alvord for past equipment costs, sets a three-year station lease with specific maintenance responsibilities, and avoids a disruptive split that could have moved equipment out of town.
