Gas Fire Injures Three In Arlington
An explosion left three injured Sunday after water department crews struck an underground gas line.

ARLINGTON, TX — A Sunday night gas explosion injured three people in central Arlington.
Crews from Arlington Water Utilities were working to repair a water leak in the intersection of Ditto Avenue and Dungan Street some time before 7:45 p.m. when an Atmos gas line was struck, Arlington Fire Department said in a statement.
Crews stopped working and called Atmos Energy and Arlington Fire Department. Workers arrived and began to pump water from the hole.

Before crews could begin repairs, the gas ignited and caused a fire, Arlington Fire said.
One Arlington Water worker and two firefighters were injured and taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas.

One firefighter and one water department worker were treated and released Sunday evening.
