Man, 20, Arrested In Kidnapping, Robbery, Rape of Arlington Woman
The accused was found with the victim's debit card and the gun used in the incident, police said.

ARLINGTON, TX — A 20 year old man was arrested Thursday morning in connection to the Wednesday kidnapping, robbery and rape of a female UT Arlington student. The suspect, Joel Engobo Mambe, 20, was arrested at a house in Fort Worth.
Police said the suspect was found with the victims' debit card and the gun used in the incident.
The student was going to her home at Midtown Apartments around 3:00 a.m. Wednesday when Mambe, armed a handgun, approached her, police allege. Mambe is accused of then forced her to drive her car to a nearby ATM and withdraw money from her account. She was then sexually assaulted at gunpoint, police said.

Police said she was then forced to drive to a convenience store to withdraw more money. The student drove her attacker to an unknown location, where he got out of the car and left. She then drove home and called police.
An Arlington police spokesman said in a statement that detectives worked through the night to find the woman's attacker. Surveillance camera footage helped police identify the suspect.

Mambe faces charges including three felony counts of Aggravated Kidnapping, Aggravated Robbery and Aggravated Sexual Assault. He has no bond set and is at the Arlington Jail. Police said he also had a misdemeanor warrant out of Tarrant County.
