UT Arlington Student Kidnapped, Raped At Gunpoint: Police

She was Kidnapped, robbed and assaulted while going home at Midtown Apartments, police said.

ARLINGTON, TX — University of Texas Arlington campus police are looking for a man who robbed and raped a student at gunpoint Tuesday night.

Police said the female student was going to her home at Midtown Apartments around 3:00 a.m. Thursday when an unknown man with a handgun approached her.

The man forced her to drive her car to a nearby ATM and withdraw money from her account. She was then sexually assaulted at gunpoint.

Police said she was then forced to drive to a convenience store to withdraw more money. The student drove her attacker to an unknown location, where he got out of the car and left. She then drove home and called police.

Her attacker is described as a black male, possibly in his 20s, with a thin build.

An investigation is underway, police said. Anyone with information about this incident should call UTA police at 817-272-3381. Members of the UTA community are urged to be aware of their surroundings at all times. Students enrolled in evening classes should walk in groups when possible or call UTA police at 817-272-3381 for a security escort.
