Texas May Have A Way To Help Roads Last Longer, Especially In Extreme Heat (slashgear.com) — Researchers at UT Arlington are testing plastic-infused asphalt that could help Texas roads, including those in Arlington, better withstand extreme heat and last longer. Early trials, including a Rockwall highway section, suggest the material may reduce cracking, cut maintenance costs, and recycle tons of plastic, though questions remain about scaling up and long-term environmental impacts.
