📰 News we're reading
• Beeville works to revitalize downtown with new businesses and Rialto Theatre restoration (kiiitv.com) — Downtown Beeville is getting a major boost, with the historic Rialto Theatre being restored and several new businesses, including Beeville Day Spa, expected to open within the next six months. • CASA hosting outerwear drive for children in need (southtexasnews.com) — Families in Beeville can support local children in foster care by donating new or gently used jackets, hoodies, sweaters and other warm clothing to CASA's October outerwear drive. One of the main drop-off locations is the CASA office in Beeville, making it easy for residents to help kids in Bee and surrounding counties stay warm as cooler weather arrives.
• 2026 Texas congressional races: Who is running and what to know (texastribune.org) — Beeville voters are now part of Texas' redrawn 15th Congressional District, a heavily contested South Texas seat where Republican incumbent Monica De La Cruz faces Democrat Bobby Pulido. This in-depth guide explains how mid-decade redistricting shifted district lines, what's at stake for control of Congress, and where each major candidate stands on issues like border security, jobs, healthcare and the cost of living.
