The money supports expanding Russ Pitman Park with an immersive, nature-focused play space and Cottage Classroom, with a public groundbreaking set for October 7 at the center. 
• Beloved Houston restaurant closes longtime home with 'big feelings' (lmtonline.com) — Longtime Houston favorite Picos has closed its Upper Kirby location, where it moved 12 years ago from its original Bellaire home, but the restaurant plans to reopen in a smaller new space.
