Cedar Park Gold Coin Dealer Accused Of Theft For Second Time
For the second time in as many months, Donald McBride is accused of taking money from a client without delivering the merchandise.

CEDAR PARK, TX — The owner of a gold coin business has once again been accused of taking cash from a customer without delivering the goods.
Donald McBride, 47, was charged with theft of property against an elderly individual on Friday, a third-degree felony punishable by up to a decade in prison on Friday. It's the second time in as many months that McBride has been accused of ripping off a customer, charged in May with taking $9,705 from a customer wanting to buy gold coins that were never provided dating to an October transaction, the Austin American-Statesman reported.

In the latest incident, a 74-year-old man ordered five American Eagle gold coins from McBride in June of last year, sending McBride a cashier's check for $6,600, the newspaper reported. According to an affidavit, McBride deposited the check the same day. Eight months later, the victim mailed McBride a certified letter asking for a refund because the gold coins were never received according to the report.
McBride owns the David Maxwell Gold Advisors store located at 1818 Golden Arrow Ave. He was released from the Williamson County Jail on Friday after posting a $10,000 bail, according to records.
