Cedar Park Police Make Arrests In Airman's Killing (Updated)
Law enforcement officials said Austin Robert Burroughs, 22, was fatally shot in a random act of violence motivated by robbery.
CEDAR PARK, TEXAS — Three arrests have been made in connection to the fatal shooting of a U.S. Air Force airman tlast Sunday in Cedar Park, police said Monday.
At a 1 p.m. press conference on Monday, police categorized the killing of Austin Robert Burroughs, 22, on Jan. 20 as a random act of violence with robbery as the likely motive. The suspects in the killing now charged with murder are: Elanna Jena Wilkes, 20; Cornelius Martin, 20; and Darius Burdett-Hornsby, 20.
The three suspects are being held at the Travis County Jail, according to records.

According to police, Burroughs had pulled into the parking lot of the Lakeline Villas Apartments, 2201 S. Lakeline Blvd. just after 9 p.m. when he was shot upon exiting his vehicle. A passenger at the time of the incident, his wife witnessed her husband's shooting, police previously said.
No further details were released given the ongoing nature of the police investigation.

Burroughs was a student stationed at Presidio of Monterey, CA., according to records from the Air Force Personnel Center referenced by the Stars and Stripes publication. The Presidio is an active U.S. Army installation that is home to the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center.
As Stars and Stripes reported, Burroughs joined the U.S. Air Force on May 30, 2017, and had received the Air Force Training Ribbon, the Air Force Good Conduct Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Air Force Basic Military Training Honor Graduate ribbon and the National Defense Service Medal.
