Leander Teen Arrested For Threats Of Violence Against Rouse High School Via Graffiti

Tyler Philip Contatore, 17, was charged with the graffiti message and exhibition of a firearm, both felony-level charges, police said.

LEANDER, TX -- Police have made an arrest stemming from the discovery of threatening graffiti in a Rouse High School bathroom, officials confirmed on Tuesday.

Tyler Philip Contatore, 17, of Leander was arrested on Monday for the defacement, and charged with graffiti and exhibition of a firearm, according to Leander police. Both are felony-level charges.

The graffiti at Rouse High School was first discovered Oct. 4, sparking a police investigation. The writer indicated that violence would occur at the school on Oct. 12, officials previously noted.

In a Facebook posting, Lt. Jackson Mitchell of the Leander Police Department said Contatore detailed the firearm charge as having included threatening to exhibit or use a firearm in or on any school property.

Contatore was arrested and booked into the Williamson County Jail without incident, Mitchell added. It's unclear whether Contatore was enrolled at the high school at the time the graffiti was detected.
