Parents: Leander ISD Wants To Share Your Kids' Back-To-School Photos
The hope is to build a collection of posted photos from among the 37,000-plus schoolchildren who returned to school on Monday.

LEANDER, TX -- The first day of school is a singular milestone met with equal measures of anxiety, excitement and melancholy for both students and children.
Along with school districts all over, the Leander ISD on Monday welcomed back students from summer vacation -- more than 37,000 of them -- for the 2016-17 academic year. Now, they hope to help memorialize the first-day-of-school moments on their Facebook page where they plan to post parent's photos of their children returning to school.
"Celebrate the new school year with the district by sending your child's first day photos..." school district officials write on their website. The aim is to create a collection of first-day-of-school pics on their Internet portal like a giant family album of sorts.

Parents wishing to participate should send their photos to communications@leanderisd.org. The child's first name, grade and school should be included in the email, district officials advised.
Alas, they're growing up so fast. Sigh.
