Ex-Husband Of Missing Woman Is Charged With Murder
Coroner is seeking to determine if remains found in garage belong to man's ex-wife; she was reported missing last month.

LEAGUE CITY, TX — The former husband of a woman reported missing last month has been charged with murder, failing to report human remains and tampering with evidence, after a body wrapped in plastic sheeting was found in his garage.
Shaun Philip Hardy was arrested Friday night and taken to the Galveston County jail after he was charged with the crimes.
The body is believe to be that of his ex-wife, Anne-Christine Johnson, 30, who was reportedly last seen on Dec. 8, and was reported missing by her family.

Hardy is charged with first-degree murder in connection to Johnson's death; however, the coroner’s office has not yet determined the identity of the remains and is using dental records to verify if the remains are Johnson's, police said.
"I’m upset right now because I knew it all along," Jamell Bogard, a long-time friend of Anne-Christine Johnson, told KPRC.

Hardy told police that Johnson was at his home on Dec. 8 and left with a man driving a white sedan.
Police and volunteers with Texas EquuSearch have been looking for Johnson ever since, and have scoured areas within a three-mile radius of Hardy’s home.
Because of the unsuccessful results, the search was suspended a few days before Christmas, but resumed last week.
The couple had a volatile and often violent relationship that culminated in the pair filing protective orders against one another in June 2015.
The couple, who were divorced in 2014, had a five-year-old son together.
Hardy is in the Galveston County Jail, and his bond is set at $1 million.
