Galveston Police Arrest Suspect in Security Guard Shooting On Unrelated Charge.

Police say suspect is part of a criminal gang out of Missouri City, who was found hiding nearby during the manhunt for the shooters

GALVESTON, TX -- Police believe they may have one of the three men who shot an unarmed security guard at the San Luis Resort on Sunday.

Tyrone Davis Haines, 21, a member of the Gorilla Mob 187 gang out of Missouri City, was arrested on an unrelated charge the night of the shooting, police said Thursday.

Phillip Molis, 23, was working as an unarmed security guard at the San Luis Resort, when he saw three men in the back parking lot who were acting suspicious near some parked cars.

When Molis approached the three men, the men all began shooting, hitting Molis 11 times.

He was taken to Ben Taub Hospital in critical condition, and is expected to recover.

The three men all took off on foot, prompting a search by other law enforcement agencies in the area.

During that search, Haines was found hiding nearby, and was arrested on an unrelated charge, police said.

Haines is charged with criminalo tespass and is in the Galveson County ail in lieuof a $5,000 bond.

Police believe that the two men who were with Haines that night are also members of Gorilla Mob 187.

Police said the night of the shooting, they received numerous reports of car break-ins in the area near the resort.

A $30,000 reward is also being offered for information that leads to an arrest.
