Supected Gang Member Arrested In Galveston Security Guard Murder

GALVESTON, TX — Police have arrested a 19-year old man who they say shot and killed a security guard outside a Galveston resort hotel in April.
Brandon Ledford is being held in the Fort Bend County Jail and is charged with murder in the shooting death of 23-year old Phillip Molis on April 9. (Want to get daily news updates and hear about other events going on in your area? Sign up for the free Clear Lake Patch morning newsletter.)
Molis was working as an unarmed security guard at the San Luis Resort in Galveston, when he walked up on three men who were allegedly burglarizing cars at the resort’s parking lot.

Three days after the shooting, police in Galveston announced that Tyrone Davis Haines, 21, a member of the Gorilla Mob 187 gang out of Missouri City, had been arrested the night of the shooting on an unrelated charge.
It is believed that all three men who were involved in the shooting are members of the Gorilla Mob 187 gang.
