Judge Certifies 16-Year Old An Adult In Capital Murder Case

CONROE, TX — A 16-year old juvenile accused of taking part in the murders of two men in Tamina last summer, will stand trial as an adult.
On Feb. 27, a judge certified Vanterrial Jones as an adult for the robbery and murders of Jaquise Williams, 23, and Akeem Russell, 24, in July 2017.
Arrested with Jones were Roman Pray, 18, of New Waverly, Thomas Lizcano, 17, and Roddrick Jordan, 30, both from Conroe.

The bodies of of Williams and Russell — who were cousins — were found inside their home in the 9600 block of Bimms Drive by Montgomery County deputies who were conducting a welfare check of the two men.
Jordan, who has an extensive criminal history, is looking at a minimum of 25 years behind bars if he's convicted, while Pray and Lizcano could faqce the deathl penalty if they are convicted.
Meanwhile, Jones became the 14th juvenile to be certified as an adult since County Attorney J.D. Lambright was sworn in to office in 2013.
We handle 1,100 to 1,200 juvenile cases a year. So it's a very low number that gets certified," Lambright told KTRK.
