Montgomery Co. Looking To Close COVID-19 Vaccine Hub: Report
Jason Millsaps cited a drop in demand for the vaccine as residents continue to receive the shot.
CONROE, TX — Jason Millsaps said at the Montgomery County Commissioners Court session Tuesday that the Montgomery County COVID-19 vaccination hub at Woodforest Bank Stadium in Shenandoah could shut down as early as mid-June, according to the Conroe Courier.
Millsaps, the executive director of the county's Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security, said demand has dwindled as more vaccines have been distributed. He also speculated that the temporary pause in distribution of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine also had an effect on demand.
Millsap's comments come on the same day as the Centers for Disease Control amended its guidelines, stating that it is safe for fully vaccinated people to conduct activities outside without a mask except in large groups of strangers.
