Willis ISD To Consider Post-Harvey Home Reappraisals

District plans to reach out to Montgomery County Appraisal District to assess damages to homes.

WILLIS, TX — Victims of the floods caused by the unrelenting rainfall from Hurricane Harvey could be getting relief from Willis ISD and the Montgomery County Appraisal District.

Homes in the Willis Independent School District that were flooded or damaged by Hurricane Harvey could be reappraised, which would give homeowners in the area needed break. The Willis ISD board of trustees is expected to approve a request that allows the school district to ask the appraisal district to ask for home reappraisals, the Houston Chronicle reported.

Willis, located in northern Montgomery County, received about 10 inches of rainfall during Hurricane Harvey, an amount far less than what areas south were hit with over a five day span.
