Stevens plant after discovering a leak during maintenance. While crews weld and mortar the replacement pipe, the city is relying on Western Reservoirs and Nueces groundwater, with full pipeline service expected to be restored by Thursday, October 8.

Older Texas homeowners see lower property tax bills through expanded exemptions (kiiitv.com) — If you're 65 or older and own a homestead in Corpus Christi or elsewhere in Nueces County, you may now owe nothing in school district property taxes thanks to expanded state exemptions. Local tax officials say about 32,000 older homeowners already benefit, while CCISD notes the state backfills its lost revenue, even as other districts worry about funding gaps.
