DALLAS, TX — The Star center in Frisco has accumulated yet another sporting organization that will soon call North Texas home. The lacrosse team formerly known as the Rochester Rattlers will relocate to the Star in time for the 2018 Major League Lacrosse season.

“We have been interested in the North Texas area for quite some time and we are thrilled that our dream of bringing an MLL team to Dallas has come to fruition,” MLL Commissioner David Gross said. “We would like to thank the city of Rochester, the Dworkin family and everyone who has supported the Rattlers for their devotion to the team. We believe this relocation will make the franchise stronger than ever and will bring the highest level of lacrosse to a rapidly growing hotbed for the sport.”

The Dallas Rattlers will be added to the extensive list of teams already headquartered in Frisco, including the Dallas Stars corporate headquarters and practice rink, FC Dallas of Major League Soccer, the Texas Rangers Double-A affiliate, the Frisco Roughriders, the Texas Revolution of Champions Indoor Football and the Texas Legends, the G-League affiliate of the Dallas Mavericks. Frisco also hosts FBS football’s Frisco Bowl, the FCS Championship Game for Division I college football and the Conference USA Basketball Championships.

The team will be led by head coach Bill Warder, who has served as an assistant coach to the Rattlers since 2007.
