Downtown Dallas Streets Closed After Water Main Break
All lanes of St. Paul Street and Elm Street remain closed in the area of the water main break.

DALLAS, TX — All lanes of two Downtown Dallas streets remain closed Friday after an early-morning water main break left the area flooded.
Police said the area affected by the closure encompasses the 1600 through 1900 blocks of Elm Street, from Ervay Street and Akard Street. St. Paul Street is also closed from Pacific Street to Main Street.
When the water main broke around 7 a.m., several streets in the area, including Elm and St. Paul were affected, the Dallas Morning News reported. Water could be seen gushing through the damaged pavement in a video shared by the newspaper.

The News reported at least one underground parking garage took on water, affecting cars parked in the garage. It's unclear if any cars were seriously damaged by the flooding.
The City of Dallas said Elm Street is expected to reopen Friday afternoon.
