As an alumnus of UT-Arlington (class of 1978), Warren credits his successful career to the foundational education he received at this esteemed institution. This connection inspired his generous donation, poised to make a significant impact on the university's future academic trajectory.

In recognition of this donation, UT-Arlington plans to establish three academic positions in Warren's name. The funds will also contribute to the construction of a laboratory, the creation of an innovative "Career Experience Center," and the continued provision of financial aid for deserving scholarship and fellowship recipients.

Among the initiatives made possible by Warren's donation is the "Kelcy Warren Endowed Professorship in Resource and Energy Engineering," aimed at attracting and retaining distinguished scholars in the field. Additionally, the donation will support hands-on research opportunities for engineering undergraduates and facilitate the establishment of the Kelcy Warren Career Experience Center. This center will offer experiential learning through internships and co-op programs, providing a significant boost to the university's engineering curriculum.

Born the youngest of four siblings, Warren learned the values of hard work and financial prudence from an early age. His parents' commitment to providing for their family left an indelible impression on him. This ethos has informed Warren's approach to the vital role of the energy industry, a key driver of the U.S. economy and essential for the well-being of society. As the need for sustainable energy solutions grows, so does the significance of Warren's investment in this field.

Warren's philanthropic efforts extend beyond UT-Arlington. He has been lauded for his contributions to the Klyde Warren Park in downtown Dallas, named after his son, further underscoring his commitment to philanthropy and community development.
