[WATCH] Video Shows House Explosion That Injured Five In Hurst

A short video taken from Officer Hiser's dash camera shows the unexpected explosion that came after a truck crashed into a house in Hurst.

HURST, TX — Hurst Police Department Wednesday released a 19-second video that shows the moment a house exploded and injured several people.

The crash came after 35-year-old Alejandro Enriquez-Castro's white Ford Explorer veered off the roadway and into a house in the 400 block of Myrtle Court, severing a gas line and causing a dangerous leak.

Police heard screams in the house and, as they approached the scene, the house exploded with such force that the roof was lifted from the house and the rear wall crumbled.

The two officers injured, Officer Travis Hiser and Corporal Ryan Tooker, were both treated for injuries and released.

Castro was arrested at the scene on a misdemeanor charge of No Drivers License. He was taken to Hurst Jail in lieu of a $180 bail, but further investigation proved the driver had several unconfirmed alias names.

Castro was placed on an immigration detainer and transferred Monday to ICE custody.

Police are still investigating the crash that caused the explosion.
