App To Help Local Creatives Collaborate Launched

Daydreamer is an innovative new app with the potential to change the way Austin creatives work.

AUSTIN, TEXAS — Day Dreamer, the new iOS and Android application promoting collaboration among Austin creatives of all genres — photography, videography, music, visual arts, design, theater & dance, beauty, fashion, and more — celebrated its official launch this past Friday.

The app was revealed at a party at downtown bar Cheer Up Charlie's. The affair was grand, attended by approximately 1,200 guests and boasting musical performances, a braid bar, cotton candy and photo-booth fun, among other attractions.

The innovative app both showcases users' work and invites them to collaborate with others. Users are able to create their own portfolios, so as to showcase their own skills and interests, as well as bookmark portfolios of others whose work or visions resonate with their own. Additionally, they are able to communicate with one another directly, a feature designed to enable projects and other collaborations among users.

CEO and co-founder of Day Dreamer Mary Walker has high hopes for how the application will revolutionize the local creative scene. With her musician-background, she has always looked to collaborate with other musicians and bands, as well as with photographers and content writers, but found that the search for a good fit was often plagued with complications. In her own words she tells Patch "...a very important aspect of collaboration is being able to have a relationship where there is some sort of understanding....the work is better that way. That's why Day Dreamer is hyperlocal, so you can translate your online relationships into real-life results."

The Day Dreamer team is currently preparing for a colleges tour during which they will be traveling throughout Texas to meet with higher-education art departments. In the meantime, local creatives are creating their own accounts on the app, looking for ways to enhance how they create and conduct business while collaborating in a city that thrives on creativity.
