Application Period for Austin City Hall and Airport Art Exhibitions Opens
Both collections will run from October through May 2028.
Austin Arts, Culture, Music and Entertainment (ACME) announced open calls for the 2026-28 People's Gallery exhibition at Austin city Hall and the 2026 Changing Exhibits Program at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS).
According to an April 1 press release, both exhibitions will run from October through May 2028. There are no submission fees to apply, and the application deadline is 11:59 p.m., Sunday, May 31.
The People's Gallery at Austin City Hall is located on the first three floors of the building. It is an ongoing exhibition series that showcases local and regional artistic endeavors while encouraging public dialogue, understanding, and enjoyment of visual art.

The exhibition reflects Austin's artistic excellence and cultural diversity and supports the city's ongoing cultural and economic initiatives. The gallery accepts 2-D and 3-D artworks in all media. More than 200,000 annual visitors will see the exhibition.
The Changing Exhibits Program at AUS enhances the traveler experience by presenting regional artwork that reflects a strong sense of place. For this upcoming season, ACME is asking artists to respond to the theme Vestiges of the Future.

ACME seeks multi-disciplinary exhibition proposals. The works will be spread throughout the terminal in 12 different gallery spaces that engage more than 20,000 daily visitors.
Applicants should be Austin-area visual artists, galleries, or visual arts organizations. All selected artworks must be exhibition-ready, free-standing, and self-operating. Any artist-provided stands must be approved by the program coordinator prior to delivery.
Professional artists aged 18 and older who live in the Austin metro area, including Bastrop, Blanco, Burnet, Caldwell, Hays, Travis, or Williamson counties.
Selected artists may offer their artwork for sale. The city does not take any commission or compensation for any sales and all transactions are handled directly by the artist or the representing gallery.
City employees who are not employed by ACME may apply for the People's Gallery exhibition only, but artwork may not be offered for sale.
