Suspect Arrested In Man's Death Is Victim's Own Son: Travis County Sheriff's Office (Updated)

Skye McMillon, 24, arrested after deputies found Steven Nurse, 60, in an advanced state of decomposition after not showing up for work.

UPDATED: The man found dead inside his home along Sandy Beach Road this past Sunday has been identified as Steven Nurse, 60. Moreover, police on Tuesday said the man charged in connection to his death, Skye McMillon, is the man's own son.

The sheriff's office on Monday had identified the suspect, but hadn't detailed the relationship between the to men. The older man was found by deputies in an advanced state of decomposition after checking up on him amid reports he hadn't shown up for work in several days.

The investigation is ongoing, and future charges could be added, the sheriff's office said.

AUSTIN, TX — The Travis County Sheriff's Office on Monday said a man has been arrested in connection to a death of a person found in an advanced state of decomposition over the weekend.

On Sunday at around 10:30 a.m., sheriff's deputies responded to the 10000 block of Sandy Beach Road to check on the welfare of an individual who hadn't shown up for work in several days. Once at the residence, deputies found the deceased person.

An autopsy revealed several injuries on the deceased, whose identify is still unknown.

Consequently, Skye McMillon, 24, was arrested in connection to the death and additionally was charged with tampering and fabricating physical evidence, a second-degree felony. McMillon is being held on a $100,000 bond. Sheriff's officials said criminal charges could be changed or added upon completion of the investigation.

The sheriff's office provided no further details citing the ongoing nature of the investigation.
