Austin Area Gets Its First First Freeze Warning This Week
The work week began after Veterans Day with cold, rainy conditions and a forecast 32 degrees on Monday dropping to 29 degrees on Tuesday.

AUSTIN, TEXAS — Katie — and the rest of you too — bar the door. A cold front arrived on Monday to the Central Texas region, along with wind gusts reaching up to 25 miles per hour, and the first freeze of the year expected by Monday night.
If rainy days and Mondays always get you down, then today's soupy climactic mix were the perfect storm for your state of being. The day has been mostly cloudy, cool, and rainy across South Central Texas with highs topping out in the 50s, as reported by the National Weather Service. But one need only step outside to feel and see those conditions, without the benefit of visiting the weather site.
The low on Monday night will be around 32 degrees, according to the National Weather Service, with a low below freezing at 29 degrees on Tuesday. And don't count on there being a famously Texan sudden reversal either. Often, people in Texas will joke that if you don't like the weather, just wait five minutes and it'll change.
