Austin Police Detail Security Protocol At Large-Scale Events In Wake Of Manchester Attack
Police continually monitor any and all reported threats made towards large events and venues, working in tandem with other agencies.

AUSTIN, TX — In the wake of this week's terrorist attack in Manchester, England, the Austin Police Department on Tuesday issued an advisory detailing its safety protocol in dealing with large-scale events.
"The Austin Police Department continually monitors any and all reported threats made towards large events and venues around the city," police said in a statement. "We work closely with all of our public safety partners, both locally and federally."
Should the need arise in light of increased violence worldwide, APD will revamp its safeguards as needed, officials said.

"APD will enhance our security posture as needed and make any necessary adjustments should the need arise," officials said. "It is important for our community to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behavior or activity by calling 9-1-1."
The assurance comes after Monday's deadly terrorist attack in Manchester that killed 22 people and wounded more than 50 others. The victims were attending a concert by the pop music star Ariana Grande.
