AUSTIN, TX — The Barton Creek Greenbelt reopened on Monday after recent heavy rains prompted city officials to close portions of the popular recreational site.

The site was reopened at noon on Monday, but parks officials warned visitors that slick and muddy conditions persist after days of heavy rain last week. As a result, park users are urged to exercise caution while staying on established trails.

Flooding prompted officials to close the greenbelt on May 8. City workers continue to assess trail conditions even after reopening the site to the public.
