Trader Joe's Recalls Applesauce That Might Contain Glass Fragments

No injuries have been reported, but the maker reported it had gotten complaints from consumers finding glass inside the jars.

AUSTIN, TX — Trader Joe's is recalling three varieties of its applesauce over worries the jars might contain glass fragments, officials said.

Two of the applesauce products were sold at Trader Joe's stores nationwide, according to a recall notice posted on the retailer's website on Sunday. While the alert was voluntarily issued by the retailer, it doesn't indicate how it first discovered the problem or if it has received any reports of injuries.

“All potentially affected products have been removed from store shelves and destroyed,” Trader Joe’s wrote in the recall notice.
