Wu Chow In Downtown Austin To Stage 3-Day 'Year Of The Dog' Bash

AUSTIN, TX — If you're still writing the Year of the Rooster on your checks to pay the bills, prepare soon to scribble instead the Year of the Dog. To make sure you remember, the culinary staff at Wu Chow in downtown Austin is poised to stage an elaborate reminder.

The Year of the Dog falls on Feb. 16, according to the Chinese calendar. Wu Chow will usher in the new year next month in a three-day celebration from Feb. 16 to Feb. 19.

The annual festivities begin with special Chinese New Year dinner dishes offered on Friday and Saturday evenings, restaurant officials said. Guests will be able to enjoy several signature dishes, including Beijing roast duck and lobster, with the celebration continuing with a Chinese New Year dim sum brunch special on Sunday, February 18, featuring additional menu specials.

The annual family-friendly event wraps up with a special celebration on Monday, Feb. 19, featuring fun festivities for the family, including Lion Dancers, temporary tattoos for the kids, and puppy adoption opportunities with Austin Pets Alive.
