The Fort Worth City Council is out of session for its summer break and will return for its next work session on Aug. 4.
The city published a blog post with the notice on Tuesday. According to the post, City Council will not hold any meetings in July.
Regularly scheduled council meetings will resume with a work session at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4, in the City Council Work Session room, located downstairs at City Hall (100 Fort Worth Trail).

Council goes on this break every July so that council members and city staff can take time out to focus on district-specific priorities, prepare for upcoming budget discussions, and connect with constituents.
Because it went into effect on June 23, the city hasn't had much of a chance to get used to the new meeting registration process. Residents can review the new process during the break.

Essentially, residents will visit an online portal, use filter options at the top of the page to filter meetings by date and type, click on the meeting they want to speak at, and expand the agenda section for the item they wish to address, and complete a form.
Once the agenda is posted to the city's website on Wednesdays, residents must register no later than two hours before the start of the meeting for both day and evening meetings. Residents can still visit the city secretary's office in-person or call 817-392-6150 to fill out a card.
