19 Harmony Campuses, Three Districts Earn National PLTW Distinguished Program Recognition for STEM Excellence

HOUSTON — 19 Harmony Public Schools campuses and two districts across Texas have earned national recognition from Project Lead The Way for their commitment to STEM education and hands-on learning opportunities.

Project Lead The Way, a nationally recognized nonprofit organization focused on science, technology, engineering and math education, honored the campuses and districts with its Distinguished Program Recognition. The award recognizes schools and districts that demonstrate strong student access, participation and achievement in PLTW programs.

According to PLTW, the recognition celebrates schools and districts “committed to unlocking student potential through PLTW programs.”

PLTW develops hands-on, project-based curriculum for elementary, middle and high school students nationwide. Its programs are designed to help students build real-world skills in engineering, biomedical science, computer science, problem-solving, design thinking, collaboration and innovation. The organization also partners with schools to provide curriculum, teacher training and career-connected learning experiences.

The recognition reflects Harmony Public Schools’ systemwide commitment to STEM education and preparing students for future college and career success through innovative, hands-on learning pathways.

“Receiving the PLTW Distinguished Program Recognition highlights the dedication of our students, teachers and campus leaders to creating meaningful STEM learning experiences,” Harmony Public Schools officials said. “These programs help students develop critical thinking, collaboration and problem-solving skills that will serve them well in college, careers and beyond.”
