1. Multi-vehicle crash forces complete closure of Gulf Freeway northbound in SE Houston: TranStar (abc13.com) — Northbound lanes of the Gulf Freeway near Hobby Airport were completely shut down Sunday evening after a multi-vehicle crash in southeast Houston, causing significant backups near the Edgewood and Clearwood exits. While police say the wreck was not fatal, details on injuries remain unclear, and drivers are urged to check real-time Houston TranStar and ABC13 traffic tools before heading that way.

2. With a historic lizard birth, these new reptiles have arrived at the Houston Zoo (houstonchronicle.com) — Families in Houston can now visit several new reptile residents at the Houston Zoo, including the first-ever Hosmer's spiny-tailed skink born there. Alongside this historic lizard, the zoo has welcomed leaf-tailed geckos, eyelash pit vipers, and returning star tortoises, all highlighting ongoing conservation work and giving locals more to see on upcoming free admission days.

3. In New Kind of Suburb, Folks Trade Big Homes for Interaction (newser.com) — A Houston-area couple ditched their quiet Tudor home after finding the surrounding streets empty and neighbors distant, even at a financial loss. They moved 15 minutes away to Indigo, a master-planned community that trades larger houses for walkable streets, shared walls, social clubs, and a lively coffee-and-wine bar that anchors neighborhood life.

4. Recap: Spirit Takes Important Three Points in Houston with 15th Win of Season (washingtonspirit.com) — A tightly contested NWSL match at Shell Energy Stadium saw the Houston Dash fall 3-2 to the Washington Spirit, despite two goals from Miljana Ivanović.
