The long weekend is chock full of festival and Easter egg hunts designed to provide hours of family fun. Find something to do this weekend.
HOUSTON, TX -- It’s Easter weekend, and Texans will either be hitting the road on Good Friday, hoping to get a head start on the long weekend, or taking a staycation and taking it easy.
While church and Easter egg hunts might be in the agendas of many this weekend, there are gatherings and festivals happening all over Texas, starting Saturday, and continuing into next week.

Houston Area Festivals
Magnolia Depot Day - Saturday, April 15, Magnolia, Texas: This event is fun for all with barbecue, live/silent auctions, antique tractors, car show, live entertainment, rides for kids, historic museum, historic doctor's office and barber shop, circa 1901, and much more. We are adding a historical blacksmith shop to the grounds to be finished by Depot Day. This year Blacksmith Shop and Post Office added.
Brazoria County Crawfish Festival - April 15-17, Angleton, Texas: The Brazoria County Crawfish Festival takes the friendly, relaxed fun and community feel of a small town fair and serves it up big, with hot, fresh crawfish at a cheap price, along with the best of Cajun dishes and classic festival fare.
Entertainment includes the areas best Zydeco, Texas Country, and Classic Rock bands, while The Houston Blues Society brings in the blues. There are specialty acts like the wildly popular Splash Dogs, armadillo races, crawfish-eating contests, and more. A huge selection of vendors of unique wares, arts and crafts, a world-class carnival and children’s area provides plenty of activities and fun for adults and kids.

8th Annual Galveston Island Food and Wine Festival - April 17-23, Galveston, Texas:
Last years event included wines from 25 vineyards and this year the event expects to surpass those numbers. The 8th Annual Food and Wine Fest kicks off with a pre-event Blind Tasting on April 6th, then the real deal starts April 21st with entertainment continuing through April 23rd. From $30 to $156 there is a package that fits any budget and enough wine selections to satisfy the most critical palate. Pour into bliss this April and join in for a special springtime event that transforms Galveston Islands Historic Harbor Pier 21 into a food and wine lovers paradise. With specialty food items, culinary events, artisan exhibits, and live musical entertainment, it is sure to be the event of the year. Enjoy wines from around the world paired with delicious local food, and learn first-rate tips from popular chefs and renowned winemakers.

- Easter Eggstravaganza Egg Hunt, The Square at Memorial City, 303 Memorial City Way, April 15, 2 pm – 4 pm: Memorial City is hosting an Easter Eggstravaganza Egg Hunt Saturday at The Square. There will be six “mini” egg hunts for different age groups: 2 pm (age 1-3), 2:30 pm (age 4-6) and 3 pm (age 7-10). Please register for a free ticket to the egg hunt. If you don’t register in time, kids can still participate in the activities including arts and crafts, face painting, balloon art and treats.
- Bunny Trunk Hop, Cypress Creek Christian Church, 6823 Cypresswood Drive, April 15, 10 am – noon: It’s a big morning celebration at Bunny Trunk Hop with 10,000 eggs, petting zoo, crafts, bounce houses, face painting and more.
- Upper Kirby Egg Hunt & Picnic, The Story Houston, Blanton Field (W. Alabama at Edloe St.)April 15, 10 am – noon: The Story Houston invites the community to its Upper Kirby Egg Hunt & Picnic plus free fun including photo booth with the Easter bunny, food trucks, games and activities. Don’t forget your picnic basket and Easter basket!
- KIDZ Family Springfest (Tomball) First Baptist Church, 29100 Tomball ParkwayApril 15, 10 am – 1 pm: Get ready for family fun at KIDZ Family Springfest in Tomball! The Easter egg hunt begins at 10:30 am with lots of other activities including inflatables, face painting and more. Don’t miss the free hot dog lunch. Bring your baskets, lawn chairs, kites and friends!
