
Harmony Public Schools Houston North District hosted the Spring 2026 Aerial Drone Competition on Saturday, February 7, 2026, welcoming 32 student teams, educators, and community members for a day of innovation and STEM excellence. The event took place at Harmony School of Excellence-Katy Middle/High School located at 6300 Peek Road in Katy, Texas.
This year marks a milestone for the district, as it hosts its 10th Aerial Drone Competition and celebrates its sixth consecutive year participating in this nationally recognized program. The competition highlights student achievement in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics as teams pilot drones through complex courses designed to test precision, teamwork, collaboration, and strategic thinking.
“This competition gives students the opportunity to push their limits and explore new ideas,” said Mr. Yilmaz Kahraman, district STEM coach. “Each year, it’s inspiring to see their confidence, creativity, and problem-solving skills continue to grow.”

Harmony School of Excellence-Houston emerged as the standout at the competition, earning awards across multiple categories. Team: HSE Drone A captured the All Around Champions title and also secured the Teamwork Mission Championship, while Team: Tiger Drones also earned Teamwork Mission Champions.
The event was supported by the Robotics Education & Competition Foundation (RECF), a global organization focused on expanding student engagement in STEM and computer science through hands-on robotics and drone programs. Backed by partners such as NASA and the Department of Defense (DoD) STEM, the competition featured Robolink’s CoDrone EDU, giving students real-world experience in coding, engineering, and aerial technology.
