Harmony Science Academy–City Place Brings the Wow Factor to the Houston Art Car Parade

Students and staff march with vibrant creativity, turning the streets into a celebration of art, science, and community spirit.

Houston’s streets came alive once again for the annual Art Car Parade, an event that continues to blend creativity, community, and culture in a way few citywide celebrations can. Among the many groups participating this year was Harmony Science Academy-City Place, whose students and families proudly joined the procession alongside artist Mario Ayala's striking piece, Dazzle. A special thank you to City Place and Public Content for inviting Harmony to be part of this incredible experience and helping make the day possible.

The Houston's Art Car Parade now a nationally recognized spectacle, draws thousands of spectators and participants each year. Known for transforming everyday vehicles into bold, moving works of art, the parade highlights Houston’s reputation as a city that embraces innovation and artistic expression in all its forms. From large scale installations to intimate, handcrafted designs, each entry reflects the diverse voices that make up the region.

For Harmony Science Academy-City Place, participation in the parade was more than a visual experience, it was a meaningful opportunity to connect students and families with the arts community. Students including Rayel, Zayd, Sophia, and Samiria, alongside their families, brought enthusiasm and energy to the event, representing the school with pride while engaging directly with one of Houston’s most iconic cultural traditions.
