Harmony Virtual Academy Fourth Grader Turns Curiosity Into ‘Dr. LOL MD’ YouTube Channel

9-year-old uses short, engaging videos to make complex health and brain science topics accessible for children

A fourth grader at Harmony Virtual Academy is diagnosing curiosity. Nand Rajkishore created his own YouTube channel that mixes his love of all things medical with humor. The lighthearted channel features short videos explaining how the human body works. Rajkishore cites his curiosity about science and brain development as the motivation for his channel.

Rajkishore said the channel was created by his parents when he was just 3 years old. At the time, they posted videos of his early learning activities. Last year, Rajkishore took over the channel, leading it into a new chapter by focusing on body science and brain development. He even renamed it “Dr. LOL MD.” Now he has videos on an array of medical subjects, including why knuckles pop, why toys look giant underwater and why kids lose their taste during a fever.

Videos on the channel span a variety of themes focused on science, health and the mind. Playlists include Science Made Simple, Nature & Mind and Brain Facts, offering a range of topics from body science to general curiosity questions. Rajkishore’s videos encourage viewers to think more deeply about everyday occurrences that we take for granted, such as how lifestyle affects health, what causes daydreaming and how the butterfly effect works.

Rajkishore gets his topics from his natural curiosity. For example, one day he wondered why he could not pick his dreams at night. He researched the answer, learned more about it and then created a video to explain it.

“What fascinates me most about the medical field is how it finds solutions to problems in the human body and helps people live healthier and better lives,” Rajkishore said. “Doctors and researchers work to fix issues inside our bodies so we can function better, and I think that is truly inspiring.”

He is a student at Harmony Virtual Academy, which he said is a major source of inspiration for his videos. Recently, there was a class discussion about the importance of vaccinations. The gears in the fourth grader’s head began turning. His next video was titled “Why Are Vaccinations Still Shots?” Rajkishore said Harmony Virtual Academy encourages him to think critically.

What makes “Dr. LOL MD” especially compelling is not just the subject matter but the intention behind it. Rajkishore is not simply sharing facts. He is translating complex medical concepts into language other children can understand, helping make science feel less intimidating and more exciting.

It is safe to say Rajkishore wants an MD next to his name in the future. He is interested in clinical research.

“I like the idea of discovering new methods and treatments that can improve patient care and help many people in the future,” Rajkishore said.

He is particularly interested in neuroscience. He would like to one day become a neurologist, a neuroscience researcher or possibly work in a field that combines neuroscience and artificial intelligence.

Rajkishore’s passion for science is turning everyday questions into meaningful lessons. “Dr. LOL MD” is more than a YouTube channel. It is the first step toward a future in medicine. At just 9 years old, he is already well on his way.
