Houston is Great for People of All Ages...Even Retirees
Houston is a great city for retirees, according to new analysis.

Houston is known as the city without limits and that even goes for age limits! According to a new study by a life insurance company, Coventry Direct, Houston is one of the best cities for retirees with fitness and arts hobbies, and for retirees who want to stay involved.
Coventry Direct analyzed Yelp listing for things that would allow residents to easily pursue their favorite activities and interests. They looked at golf, yoga, swimming lessons/schools, dance studios, art classes, photography classes, community service options, etc. These were then broken down into three categories: best cities for retirees with fitness hobbies, best cities for retirees with arts hobbies, and best cities for retirees to learn new skills and get involved.

Houston came in at number 12 for the best cities for retirees with fitness hobbies. It ranked high in pretty much every fitness category. Two other Texas cities made the list too! Dallas came in at number nine and Austin at number 17. I guess people in Texas are always working on their fitness!

So maybe yoga and golf aren’t what you are looking for in your retirement days. That’s fine, because Houston has it all! They are the 17th best city for retirees with arts hobbies. If you live in Houston there is plenty of opportunity for you to get involved in an art class or even a photography class.

Jobs can be pretty time consuming and maybe you’ve had your eye on learning something new in retirement. You have free time now, so why not? Well, Houston offers a variety of ways for you to master a new skill with a variety of cooking classes and language schools. Houston is the 13th best city for learning new skills and getting involved.
