Houston’s Jewish Community Center Receives Another Bomb Threat
Houston's Evelyn Rubenstein Center was one of 10 centers that received a bomb threat on President's Day.
HOUSTON, TX -- The Evelyn Rubenstein Jewish Community Center in southwest Houston was one of six nationwide that received a bomb threat Sunday.
The threat, which was received via email, forced the evacuation of the center for the second time in less than a month.
On Sunday, Jewish Community Centers in Chicago, Indianapolis, Rochester, New York; Vancouver, British Columbia; Milwaukee, and Houston received threats of a bomb.

Since January, an estimated 150 bomb threats have been made to Jewish Community Centers and private schools.

On Feb.20, the Evelyn Rubenstein Center was one of 10 nationwide that received a phone call of a bomb threat. The center was evacuated and thoroughly searched, but nothing was found.
The latest round of threats came as the Jewish celebration of Purim came to a close.
Last week, all 100 U.S. Senators signed a letter urging the Trump Administration to take immediate action in addressing the rash of threats against these centers.
Recently, leaders in the Jewish community met with FBI Director James Comey to discuss these threats in recent months.
That meeting was followed up with a letter to U.S. Attorney General Jeff Session on March 8, asking for the dedication of more federal resources toward investigating the source of these threats.
The FBI is investigating these incidents.
